With a kiss, the lover shows the Beloved a readiness to understand the mysteries of love. For the Beloved, a kiss is an intimate revelation of those mysteries to the lover.
After the Beloved’s kiss comes the embrace: the lover’s constant remembrance, reflection, and contemplation of the mysteries the Beloved has revealed.
Through the Beloved’s embrace, the lover is gradually transformed, becoming free of selfish desires and thoughts.
Hafez says:
Beholding is within reach, as are the kiss and embrace
I am grateful for my fortune and the course of events

از بخت شکر دارم و از روزگار هم
