The Eyebrow is a symbol of divine expressions and intimations. In many ways, the Beloved's eyebrow guides the lover along the spiritual path.
The arch of the Beloved's eyebrow draws the lover's gaze to the Beloved's eye—the source of spiritual vision.
The gentle curve of the eyebrow draws the lover to the Beloved's face—the origin of all beauty. It also turns the lover toward the Oneness of the Beloved, as the Beloved is manifested in every being, just as the prayer niche of a mosque turns the worshipper toward the qibla—the Divine direction.
The corner of the eyebrow invites the lover to behold the Beloved's forehead—the abode of the subtle mysteries of the spiritual path. Here the lover sometimes falls through his own inability to understand these mysteries, only to be raised again by divine grace and rapture.
Hafez beautifully expresses this:
My rivals are unaware that at every breath, through her eyebrow's chamberlain,
Thousands of different messages are issued from that eye, that brow.
رقیبان غافل و ما را از آن چشم و جبین هر دم
هزاران گونه پیغام است و حاجب در میان ابرو
