Tranquility (sakina)

The term sakina, in its literal sense, means peach of heart. In sufi terminology, it signifies the peace that appears in the heart of the sufi as an effect of infusions (wared) from the Unseen, the dictates of which vary according to the Sufi's state and station. Consequently, tranquility has different characteristics at each of the wayfarer's stations.
