Sufi Symbolism X

This is the first of the three volumes (X,XI,XII) that explore the spiritual states and mystical stations which the sufis experience while journeying and wayfaring the Sufi Path. In the words of the great sufi masters themselves, it provides subtler aspects of the Sufi Path. Much of this material is translated into English for the first time.

Awakening (yaqza)

In the early stages, awakening involves the arousal [of the wayfarer] from the slumber of heedlessness (gheflat) and his undertaking the journey to God. In the final stages, it describes stability (tamkin) and immunity from confusion between Divine and phenomenal decrees.
